Robert Anbian and the UFQ: Unidentified Flying Quartet
 


For years, saxophonist Charles Unger has thrilled audiences in San Francisco and around the world with his incendiary group, the “Charles Unger Experience”. Now comes the unique, genre defying “UFQ” with electronic percussionist E. Doctor Smith, (Brian Eno, Madonna, Howard Levy), the inimitable keyboardist Sam Peoples, and the acoustic and electric bassist Mike Shea, of the hip-hop groups Subterraneanz and Triple Ave., bringing their blend of jazz, rock, world, pop, funk and fusion. From their original and improvisational  compositions, to the music of Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, and even the Grateful Dead, UFQ’s sound is truly indescribable! For this recording, the UFQ are joined by acclaimed bay area poet, Robert Anbian, (We 1&2, Antinostalgia), on his fantastic “Haikus For the White House”, “Cultural Affairs”, “We 3.6”, and many, many more!
